A team of mining department was allegedly attacked by some people involved in illegal mining in Khandela area of the Sikar district of Rajasthan, forcing them to retreat without taking any action.
However, no one was injured in the attack that happened on 2 August, police said.
The six-member team, led by surveyor Poonam, had gone to Sohagpur village after getting complaints about illegal mining activities.
The people involved in illegal mining pelted stones at the team forcing them to leave the place without taking any action, SHO Khandela Pawan Chobey said today.
An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons and the matter is being probed, the SHO said.
