UP: Ambulance driver, sweeper booked after they refused to take COVID-19 victim’s dead body

UP police have taken action against the ambulance driver and a sweeper after they refused to take the body of the coronavirus victim to the crematorium on Friday.

According to the reports in ANI, "The deceased was a native of Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu," Sambhal SP Yamuna Prasad said.


Police booked the two men for denying to take the body of the COVID-19.

The coronavirus is a highly contagious disease. Because of the infection, several doctors and healthcare workers who treated coronavirus patients have tested positive for the illness themselves.

In Uttar Pradesh, over 800 confirmed cases for coronavirus have been reported.
While a total of 14,378 cases have been reported in India and the death toll climbed to 480.
