Dust, thunderstorm to cast spell over north-west states on Wednesday

It is just the starting of the fifth month May, and people in India have already experienced a very humid weather in most parts of the country. It is actually very hard to live without an air conditioner or cooler in this weather.

It has been observed by the weather department [skymetweather] that there is a good chance of rain and thundershower to occur at some places along with strong winds at Araria, Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Jamui, Katihar, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Madhepura, Munger, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Purnia, Saharsa, Samastipur, Sheikhpura, Supaul, Bokaro, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Paku and Sahibganj the districts of Bihar and Jharkhand during the next 4-6 hours.

Dust storm and thundershower activities are also expected over Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Delhi will witness a hot day with a partly cloudy sky, with chances of thunderstorm and lightning.

Intermittently spells of dust storm, thundershower along with squally winds are expected at many places associated with hailstorm at few places over Chandigarh, Ambala, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Gurgaon, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Mewat, Palwal, Panchkula, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonepat, Yamuna Nagar, Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Muktsar, Nawan Shehar, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sangrur, SAS Nagar and Taran Taran the districts of Punjab and Haryana during next 24 hours.

Alert for East and Northeast India

We expect moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers with strong winds to continue over West Bengal and Odisha along with few places of East Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Bihar may also receive light rain. Light to moderate rains are also expected over Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura whereas Nagaland, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will receive light rains. A cloudy sky with rain and thundershower activities is likely over Kolkata.

Central India

Hot winds from Pakistan are reaching Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and parts of Chhattisgarh. Due to these winds, heatwave conditions are expected to continue at many places of Rajasthan, Vidarbha and parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Isolated thunderstorm or rains may occur over Chhattisgarh. Mumbai is expected to see a warm and humid day. Meanwhile, Chennai will observe a sultry afternoon and warm night

Alert in South India

Moderate rains will continue over Interior Tamil Nadu, South Karnataka, and Kerala. Coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive few good spells of a thundershower. Isolated thunderstorm may occur over Rayalaseema and Telangana. A hot day with partly cloudy sky will prevail over Hyderabad. Bengaluru will observe a warm day and pleasant night along with chances of thundershowers.

According to skymetweather.com, in the last 24 hours, it has been observed that Rajasthan and Maharashtra are the two states with very warm weather and sweltering heat with the temperatures remaining beyond the 45-degree mark at most parts.
