It was in 2019 when Madhuri Dixit Nene graced the IIFA stage on Saroj Khan’s iconic songs. Madhuri paid tribute to her Masterji at the 20th edition of IIFA for Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema. The actress who has worked with Bollywood’s veteran choreographer in many projects performed on Saroj’s 12 iconic songs like Ek Do Teen, Chane Ke Khet Mai, Mera Piya Ghar Aaya, Dola Re Dola, Dhak Dhak, among others.

IIFA took to their official Twitter handle and shared the glimpse of the actress performing on numerous songs and presenting the award to the choreographer.

We all know that they both shared a warm relationship wherein Saroj considered Madhuri as her daughter, however, do you know for a brief time they both were at cold war. Yes, you read it right! After working together for the song Maar Dala, from Devdas they had a clash. Saroj was very angry from Madhuri and during interviews also choreographer lashed out at the actress calling her mere assistant.

However, things got better when Madhuri suggested Remo D’Souza for Kalank’s Tabaah Hogye song. She said that only Masterji can do justice to the song so they called veteran Saroj on the board to choreograph Madhuri. Kalank was the last project of the legendary choreographer. With a span of over 40 years, Saroj choreographed over 2000 songs most of which was with Madhuri.
