From next year onwards, the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will conduct their counselling sessions up till 10 August or till all vacant seats have been filled up.
In a series of tweets by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that he has considered the spot rounds for filling up vacancies at NITs. He further stated that since the Supreme Court ordered to freeze admissions after 15 August, no spot round was possible in NITs in 2016.
