IBPS PO Prelims 2018: Here’s the last minute tips for you to score good marks in first stage exam

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the examination dates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) preliminary exam. Therefore, candidates have speed-up their preparation for the examination.

As per the reports, the examination dates for the IBPS PO prelims exam are 18 on October 13, 14, 20 and 21. Candidates are having very less time to do the preparation for the examination. During the last moments, it is found that candidates normally committed silly mistakes due to which they unable to qualify the examination.


If you are also going to appear for the exam and don't understand how to do the preparation at the last moment then, we have brought some important tips which will help you in clearing the examination. However, preparation should not be done at the last moment whether it should be started before three or four months of the examination. Because at the last time, revision should be done.

As you all know that the IBPS CWE PO prelims exam will be a Computer-based test and the exam pattern will be based on MCQs.

From this year, IBPS has introduced section-wise timing for the exam. There will be 100 questions asked in the exam.

The IBPS PO prelims exam will consist of three sections i.e. English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability.

Important tips:

1. Reasoning Ability:

  • In this section, there will be 35 questions that have to be answered.
  • Don’t take stress while preparing
  • Try to attempt the easy questions first then the toughest
  • Try to practice more puzzle-based questions because it will have more marks weightage in an exam.

Topics should be covered are Inequality, coding-decoding, syllogism, puzzle and sitting arrangement.

English Language:

  • There will be 30 questions that you have to answer.
  • Test yourself by answering reading comprehension, correct the sentences, fill in the blanks, find errors etc
  • Avoid guesstimate while answering
  • Read English newspaper daily to improve your vocabulary

Topics should be covered in this section are: Idioms, Phrases, sentence completion, error detection and reading comprehension
