Indian wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni took an exceptional one-handed flying catch in the 27th over of the match. Jasprit Bumrah was bowling his sixth over of the match as he dismissed Carlos Braithwaite off his very first delivery.

Bumrah bowled a back of a length delivery angled in before straightening, Brathwaite closed the bat face looking to tuck it into the leg-side, the outside edge flew to the right of Dhoni, who like Brathwaite was going with the angle and was left wrong-footed, but adjusted quickly to dive to his right and take it with one-hand.

India skipper Virat Kohli was awestruck by Dhoni’s amazing dive as his reaction after the catch said it all. The catch was very important for Dhoni as well because he gave away the most byes in an ODI game.

The centurion in the previous match had to go back cheaply after making just 1 run. Bumrah then took another wicket in the next ball as he dismissed Fabien Allen leg-before. Bumrah’s back-to-back wicket proved very crucial in winning the match as West Indies was bundled out for just 143 runs.

Mohammed Shami was another bowler who took important wickets in the game and also took two consecutive four-wicket hauls in World Cup 2019. India defeated West Indies by 125 runs and climbed on the second spot on the points table. India is just one game away from qualifying for the semi-final.
