Legendary player Sachin Tendulkar played a lot of matches at MIG Cricket club in Bandra (East). Yesterday Sachin inaugurated a pavilion at the club which is named after him. After the event Sachin revealed how he wanted to lose a match when he was up against his brother Ajit.

Sachin recalled, “Both of us were progressing well in our respective pools and eventually met in the semi-finals. I think that is the only time we played against each other. I had learnt how to gauge the bowler's body language and I could make out that he (Ajit) did not want to win that match and so was I. We didn't want to beat each other. I started batting and he started bowling no-balls and wides. I responded by deliberately playing defensively and in single wicket tournament one doesn't defend.”

Sachin went on to win the match and progressed into the finals. Sachin won the finals as well. Initially Sachin was playing very defensive but then his brother gave him a look and he started playing the way he played. Ajit was throwing away no-balls and wide-balls as he too wanted Sachin to win the game.

Ajit played an important part in shaping up Sachin’s cricketing career. Sachin credits his brother for having a successful cricketing journey. Ajit was the guy who first took Sachin to his childhood coach Ramakant Archrekar as revealed by him in his documentary.
