The 25th match of the 11th season of Indian Premier League was very disappointing for its fans as both the side of Kane Williamson's Sunrisers Hyderabad and R Ashwin's Kings XI Punjab showed up unexpected performance. The Sunrisers, however, manage to set a target of 133 runs against KXIP. Well, unfortunately, the bowlers of KXIP failed to scare the Sunrisers and lost the match by 13 runs. SRH's Ankit Rajpoot become the man of the match.

Speaking about Sunrisers batting the only batsman Manish Pandey managed to score a half-century from the team. Pandey chased 54 runs and hit three 4s and one six. While the team skipper failed to add a single run in scoreboard of this match. Shakib Al Hasan scored 28 runs while Yusuf Pathan was unbeaten at 21. Basil Thampl and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets each of Hyderabad, while Rashid Khan took 3 wickets.

"We hadn't really played on surfaces where 180 was par. We want more from our batting unit, but often only 15-20 more. 145 would have been competitive here. But Kings XI bowled well to restrict us. Our bowlers fought hard, and though they ran away in the Powerplay, we knew our spinners could pull things back. It's nice to defend these totals, but we want to be smarter with the bat. It's not about getting 180 always, get 145, 155 and we can use our bowling to put them under pressure. The bowlers have been operated really smartly. And our fielding and energy are great. Fortunate with our bowling depth, with bowlers going out with injury but the backups coming good. The guys have been fantastic, the way they've managed to fight, a lot of credit to the bowlers, the lengths they hit to get their wickets," SRH's skipper Williamson said after the match.

Speaking about Punjab's Kings performance Lokesh Rahul scored 32 runs, while Chris Gayle walked out at 23 runs. Punjab's Kings failed to rule on the ground and chased only 119 runs with no wickets left. Ankit Rajpoot took 5 wickets and played a tremendous inning by giving no room to Punjab batsmen.
