IPL 2018: Ajinkya Rahane replaces Steve Smith as Rajasthan Royals's captain; David Warner also under scan

Australian cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner could be out of the 11th season of IPL  after being accused of ball tempering in the test series against South Africa. Rajasthan Royals team issued a statement saying that they are waiting for the BCCI to respond to the whole matter. On the other hand, Cricket Australia has removed Steve Smith from the post of the captain for the remaining two tests and now Tim Cook will be the new captain.

Well, Steve Smith was also appointed as the new captain of Rajasthan Royals after he did captaincy in Rising Pune Supergiants, but now reports are coming out that he has been removed as the captain. Now he will play in IPL or not that will also be decided soon.

The franchise issued a statement that they are waiting for BCCI instructions on Steve Smith. Ranjit Bardathakur, the active chairman of the team said, "We got to know about the ball tampering case in South Africa vs Australia test and before taking any decision currently we are waiting for BCCI's instructions."

He further added, "We will not tolerate any step that will hurt the sentiments of a game and our zero-tolerance policy is available for everyone in the team."

 

David Warner

The team Rajasthan Royals is making a comeback in Indian Premier League after being accused of spot-fixing and after buying Steve Smith, the team appointed him as the captain of the team. However, now Rahane will be the new captain. On the other side, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner is also being accused of the same and team management can take a strict against him also.
