Team India have been in sublime form coming into this World Cup, they have doninated their opponents in all their fixtures so far. But now the injury hit side will be without their key player Shikhar Dhawan.
The left handed batsman was ruled out of the tournament due to a fractured thumb. The BCCI has flown in Rishabh Pant as his replacement, who was earlier named as a standby. Speaking to the spin sensation of India, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rishabh Pant talked about his return to the national side.
Rishabh Pant revealed that the news came to him, when he was with his mother. Which led to her visiting the temple right away. He also spoke about how he felt when he didn’t get selected for the World Cup.

"When I didn't get selected, I thought may be I didn't do something right, so I became more positive and focused on how to improve myself. Then I did well in IPL. I kept practising. Everyone has one dream of making India win the World Cup," said Pant on a Chahal TV
“As a cricketer, from very young, I always thought of playing in at least one World Cup no matter what and performing for India. And now that I have got the call up, I am very happy," he added.
Shikhar Dhawan was hit on his thumb by Nathan Coulter Nile’s delivary, earlier in the tournament. After the incident, Dhawan looked to be in pain but went on to score 117 runs in just 109 balls. Dhawan was expected to be back within three weeks, but unfortunately wont be available for the rest of the World Cup.
