Former Indian skipper and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar is not happy over the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) rating of Perth pitch as ‘average’. India and Australia played their second Test at the ground which Australia won by 146 runs.

Tendulkar took to twitter to express his disagreement, the 45-year-old said, “Pitches play a crucial role, especially in Test cricket. In order to revive Test cricket and generate excitement, we need to provide more pitches like the one at Perth, where the skills of batsmen and bowlers are truly TESTed. This pitch was by no means “Average”.

India and Australia are currently engaged in a four match Test series that is leveled at 1-1. India won the first Test by 31 runs in Adelaide and Australia defeated India by 146 runs in Perth. The Boxing Day Test will start from Tomorrow at Melbourne Cricket Ground and will end on December 30. Virat Kohli and Tim Paine will lead their respective teams.

The hosts and the visitors will also play a three match ODI series starting from January 12 to January 18. Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is also back in the team for ODIs after not playing T20Is against Australia.
