Indian sikpper Virat Kohli has once again come under scanner before the World Cup semi finals strightaway after the men in blue beat Bangladesh by 28 runs at Edgbaston.

In the 12th over, Mohammed Shami appealed for a LBW against Soumya Sarkar after his delivery hit Soumya Sarkar on his pads, but umpire Marias Erasmus played down the appeal and gave not out.

Following the incident, skipper Virat Kohli went for a review, the review showed that the ball had hit Soumya’s bat and pad at the same time, therefore, the third umpire went with Erasmus decision as India lost their review.

But according to skipper Virat Kohli the ball had hit the pad first, the incident led to an argument with the on field umpire.

Earlier, Virat Kohli got into an argument with the umpires during the match against Afghanistan, for which Kohli was fined 25 per cent of his match fee for excessive appealing.

The Indian run machine was found guilty of violating Level 1 of the ICC code of conduct. Kohli seemed to have violated Article 2.5 of the ICC Code for players and players support personnel, which pertains to “Excessive appealing during an International Match”.

Furthermore, a demerit point has been added into the disciplinary record account of Virat Kohli, This was Kohli’s second offence since the introduction of revised ICC Code in September 2016. Kohli now has two demerit points besides the one demerit point that he got during the Test match against South Africa on January 15, 2018.

In addition, If the Indian skipper dosen't change his approach in future, there is no such force that can stop him from getting banned.

Note: Level 1 violation holds a minimum penalty of an official rebuke and maximum penalty would be 50 per cent of the player's match fee, and one or two demerit points.

If a player get four or more demerit points within two years, they are turned into a suspension points and a player gets banned.

Two suspension points gets turned into a ban from one Test or two ODI's or two T20I's, which ever is first.

Demerits points will stay on a player or Player Support Personnel’s disciplinary record for a period of two years from their enforcement following which they will be erased.
