Virat Kohli and his men in blue reserved their place in the semi-finals of the 2019 Cricket World Cup when India defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs at Edgbaston on Tuesday.

Bangladesh players were ruthlessly chasing 315 run target set by India. Shakib Al Hasan looked really threatening, capable of dashing India's hope of making it into semi-finals on Tuesday itself. But, Hardik Pandya delivered the results and claimed Shakib Al Hasan's valuable wicket. Hardik Pandya (3/60), once again proved instrumental in India's victory.

No wonder Indian captain Virat Kohli trusts Hardik Pandya a lot and considers him a valuable asset for team India. During the award ceremony after India defeated Bangladesh, Viral Kohli revealed why he respects Hardik Pandya as a bowler.

Always thinking on his feet

Virat Kohli revealed that Hardik Pandya is always thinking about the next delivery, assessing the situation and bowling as per the requirements of the team. This quality of Hardik Pandya makes him unpredictable and sometimes deadly, believes Virat Kohli.

Changing the line and length of the deliveries

Hardik Pandya is never shy of experimenting and challenging the batsman even after being hit for a four or six. Though under pressure, he has the courage to bowl a short ball and get a wicket forcing the over-excited batsman to mistime the shot. This requires a lot of inner strength and confidence and Hardik Pandya has got loads of this in the World Cup 2019.

Reading the body language of the batsman

Cricket is a mind game and a good bowler or batsman should try to read the mind of the opponent. Hardik Pandya is always observing the other player, reading his body language and then accordingly deciding the length and speed of his deliveries, believes Virat Kohli. If the players are aggressive and looking to hit the ball, Hardik will be the first to notice this and then bowl accordingly.

Bowler Hardik thinks like a batsman

This quality of Hardik makes him stand apart from other players.

"Hardik Panday is a good batsman and puts himself in the shoes of the batsmen while bowling to them," reveals Kohli.

According to Kohli Hardik keeps asking one question to himself: What would I do as a batsman if I were facing the ball?

This helps Hardik predict the next move of the batsman.

All this goes on in Hardik's mind when he gets ready to deliver the next ball. Little does the batsman know that Hardik has an inkling of the next move. And this makes Hardik very effective.
