BCCI presidency logjam ends as Shashank Manohar elected unopposed to Board hotseat

Shashank Manohar has been officially appointed unopposed as the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after getting the nod from all the six state associations from the East Zone .

The decision was taken in a special general meeting scheduled in Mumbai on Sunday, 4 October.

Former BCCI and ICC president Sharad Pawar, IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla, Punjab Cricket Association secretary MP Pandove,Cricket Association of Bengal CEO Sourav Ganguly and other state association representatives were present in the meeting.

The post has been left vacant after the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya after suffering from a heart attack last month.

Manohar had earlier served as the BCCI president from 2008 to 2011 before N.Srinivasan succeeded him.
