The former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee called the Sourav Ganguly led Indian cricket team before embarking a historic tour of Pakistan. He gave the cricket bat to Sourav Ganguly with the beautiful quote in it "Khel hi nahi, dil bhi jeetiye - shubhkamnaye" (win not only the game, but hearts also - best wishes).
Indian team had won ODI series with 3-2 and Test series with 2-1 in the historic tour.
In this historic tour Virender Sehwag scored 438 runs while Indian spinner Anil Kumble scalped 15 wickets against Pakistan. In the first Test match at Multan Sehwag smashed 309 runs.
In the ODI series Rahul Dravid scored 248 runs while Indian pacer Irfan Pathan scalped 8 wickets for the Indian side.
Team India played five one-day matches and three Tests on their first full-fledged tour of Pakistan in 15 years.
According to the sources, the condition of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee remains critical and he continues to be on advanced life-support system.
The 93-year-old BJP veteran was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on June 11 with a kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection, low urine output and chest congestion.
