Why Shahid Kapoor avoids getting clicked with Udta Punjab co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are one of the most beloved on-screen pairs. Their chemistry in films like Fida, Jab We Met, Chup Chup Ke, and 36 China Town among others has been appreciated widely.

The duo is now gearing up for the release of their upcoming film -- Udta Punjab, that also features Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh in leading roles.

While the two will not be seen in one frame in the film, the fact that Udta Punjab features both of them together is enough to create a buzz among their fans.

Ever since the promotions of the film started, rumours that Shahid and Kareena are not comfortable promoting the film together started making the rounds. They were even seen avoiding standing next to each other during the trailer launch of the film. And recently, when Shahid was asked to explain the awkwardness between them, the actor said:

"Firstly, how do you decide that we were awkward? Were we staring at each other? If Kareena and I had pictures together, then people would write only about that and talk only about that. We were there as a team of four to promote Udta Punjab. I wanted the movie to be represented well. That is why we made sure we are standing in a way that the press will not click pics that they want to click, which are controversial and put out something wrong out there. We wanted to be correct about the representation of the film."

Fair point.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Udta Punjab is slated to hit the screens on 17 June.
