The actress is yet to sign a new project after the debacle of Befikre
Vaani Kapoor got a dream launch under Yashraj productions. After making her debut in Shuddh Desi Romance and starring in South version of Band Baaja Baaraat, the actress bagged a big opportunity to be directed by Aditya Chopra in Befikre. The film managed to earn buzz due to the number of kisses she shared with her co-star Ranveer Singh, but reportedly didn't really set the box office on fire. A source says, " Vaani had revealed during promotions of her film that she waited for three years to sign her next film as Aditya had promised to offer her something right. Now apparently even after the film has released she is yet to get the right offer. In fact her team made sure that she gets good coverage before and after the release but she is yet not signed her first endorsement deal."
The actress said to have had a three film deal with the production house and she has done two Hindi and one Tamil film for them. She has received mixed reviews for her portrayal of a carefree, commitment phobic tourist guide in the film. There were reports that she was Aditya Chopra's first choice for his next film, Thugs of Hindostan, starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. However, Aamir was apparently not fine with this idea and suggested Alia Bhatt's name instead.
