Udta Punjab Poster: What’s common between Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor?

The first look poster of Shahid Kapoor from his upcoming gritty thriller, Udta Punjab, is out. The actor, who considers this as one of the most physically challenging films of his career, is seen essaying the character of rockstar Tony Singh in the film. 

Shahid has undergone a complete image makeover and is seen sporting long hair with a rough look for this venture. His look in the film reminds us of Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar. While Rockstar was about the romantic journey of Ranbir’s character, Udta Punjab will address the issue of the dark reality of pop-culture.

Udta Punjab makers will release character posters daily, till 15 April, introducing Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh respectively, following which the trailer will be launched on 16 April. 

The film tackles the issue of drug addiction in Punjab. While Alia Bhatt will be seen essaying the character of a hockey player, Kareena Kapoor will be seen as a teacher in the film. Details about Punjabi Superstar, Diljit Dosanjh’s character in the film is kept under wraps. 

The film, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, is set to release on 7 June, 2016.
