The silver screens on Friday saw the release of two films namely Stree which happens oto be a horror comedy, a genre that is relatively new for the industry and starred a fresh pair of Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor along with Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurrana while on the other hand, popular comedy film of the Deols, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se starring Dharmendra along with Sunny and Bobby Deol.
After the release of the film, there comes the turn of the box-office collections of both the films which seems to be quite contrasting. As per the fresh reports, it is being said that the former managed to earn decent on the opening day of the movie and if reports are considered true, Stree has managed to earn as many as Rs 6.8 Crore just on the first day.
Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the collections of the film and tweeted, "When numbers do the talking... #Stree surpasses the expectations and estimations and posts a SUPERB number on Day 1... Biz is expected to multiply over the weekend... Fri ₹ 6.82 cr. India biz... Hugely positive word of mouth has translated into BO numbers."

The movie also recorded a high occupancy rate in the mornings which was approximately 30%. Talking about Yamla Pagla Deewanna Phir Se, the movie’s earnings were quite less as compared to its counterpart. The trailer of Stree as well as the comic timing of the actors attracted the audience to the theatres.
It is being said that the movie will manage to earn more in the coming weekend and days. The movie revolves around the story of Nale Ba and is directed by debutant director Amar Kaushik. The interestin part of this week’s box-office collection is that the latter that has bigger in-cast is left behind.
