The director of Baahubali, SS Rajamouli feels that it was necessary to come up with a sequel to the film as it would have been impossible for him to narrate the story of 'Mahishmati Kingdom' in one film.
The director, in the past, confessed that the initial plan was to merge the two Baahubali movies into one. However, he was not too happy with the final screenplay. The director, while interacting with Dharma Productions, explained,
"Usually a film run time is close to two and a half hours where in all the characters are introduced within the first hour, however since Baahubali is such a big story, we took that time just to establish the characters. Baahubali is just the introduction of characters, but to know what happens to all them; you will have to watch Baahubali 2."
According to the ace director, the sequel will be bigger and better than the first part.
The director also promised that the film will answer these five major questions which were left unanswered at the end of the first film:
1. What happens between Baahubali and Shivagami
2. What happens between Shivagami and Kattapa
3. What happens between Bhalaldeva and Kattapa
4. What happens between Bhalaldeva and Shivagam
5. What happens between Baahubali and Kattapa
Baahubali: The Conclusion is set to release on 14 April 2017.
