After opening to huge audiences on 12 November, Salman Khan's family drama Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has managed to rake in around Rs 31.03 crore on its second day, taking the total collections to an impressive Rs 71.38 crore.
The collections dropped a bit on 13 November, as it was a working day. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo enjoyed higher second day collections than Salman Khan's last blockbuster this year, Bajrangi Bhaijaan - which raked in around Rs 27 crore on its opening day.
Day Wise Box Office Collection:
- Thursday: Rs 40.35 crore
- Friday: Rs 31.03 crore
- Total: Rs 71.38 crore
The film continued to perform well at Bihar, Rajasthan, Central India, Central Province and even managed to get a strong hold in Mumbai. However it saw a drop at Delhi and East Punjab.
If the film manages to garner similar collections on 14 November, it will enter the Rs 100 crore club in just three days - crossing the three digit mark at record pace.
The film has been mounted on a budget of Rs 95 crore. An additional Rs 20 crore was spent on print and publicity, taking the total to Rs 115 crore. Anything above the Rs 200 crore mark in India will make the film a profitable venture for Fox Star Studios and Rajshri Productions.
