Jagga Jasoos to release in 2017. What does Ae Dil Hai Mushkil have to do with it?

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are expected to wrap up shooting for their detective drama, Jagga Jasoos in the next few days.

According to media reports, Ranbir Kapoor, who is one of the co-producers of the Anurag Basu-directorial, has requested that Disney UTV postpone the release of the film to 2017.

While there were plans to release Jagga Jasoos in September, it is being reported that Ranbir wants some breathing space for his scheduled 2016 release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - which hits the screens this Diwali. Ranbir is of the opinion that viewers tire of watching stars on screens when they have multiple films releasing back-to-back in a span of few months.

Jagga Jasoos has been a work in progress for a while now. And there have been reports that a major chunk of the film has been re-shot. However, Sidharth Roy Kapoor revealed - at a recent Disney event - that the makers were happy with the way the film had shaped up.

The official release date of Jagga Jasoos will be announced soon. The movie is expected to hit the screens in the first quarter of 2017.
