Remaking South Indian hits have become a trend in Bollywood and has emerged as the easiest way to be successful at the Box Office.

In fact, most of the recent Rs 100 crore Hindi blockbusters are actually remakes of South Indian films.

Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are known as the remake kings of Bollywood. Both superstars have always been interested in South Indian films' scripts and their respective Box Office success is ample proof.

Akshay Kumar's success ratio:

Except the flop Boss, a remake of Mammootty's blockbuster film Pokkiriraja, all other South remakes have been successful for the Bollywood Khiladi.

Akshay started this trend in 2000, with Priyadarshan's Hera Pheri, a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Ramji Rao Speaking.

In fact, most solo Salman starrers which were hits, were remakes of South Indian films. The darling of masses is currently riding high at the Box Office and has easily topped his superstar contemporaries like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. He is the only actor to have continuous nine Rs 100 crore plus grossers at the Box Office.
