Films to look forward to in 2017

The coming year has many exciting mix of films to offer like Raees, Tubelight, Baahubali, 2.0, Padmavati to name a few. Here is our list of must watch films.

Raees-Kaabil (January 25)

Star cast Raees-Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan

Star cast Kaabil-Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam and Ronit Roy

The year will kick start the biggest box office clash between Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil. Shah Rukh plays don in this film while Hrithik plays visually impaired person. Raees is directed by Rahul Dholakia and Kaabil is directed by Sanjay Gupta, now who will win this box office battle that we will know on Republic Day.

Jolly LLB 2(February 10)

Star cast-Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi

Subhash Kapoor's previous film in Jolly LLB received quite a lot of appreciation. The director has come up with strong stars cast with the sequel. As the name suggest, it is a court room drama and is set in Lucknow

Rangoon (February 23)

Star cast-Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj is a romance drama set against the World War II backdrop.It will be for the first time that Shahid and Saif will be seen together in this film.

Sarkar 3-Begum Jaan (March 17)

Star cast Sarkar 3-Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Yami Gautam

Star Cast Begum Jaan-Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Pallavi Sharda, Gauahar Khan

Srijit Mukherji's historical drama will see Vidya playing a head of the brothel and is an adaptation of Bengali film Rajkahini. On the hand Ram Gopal Verma's third installment in the Sarkar series is a political drama. Previous two films have had managed to get quite a lot of appreciation.

Apart from this March will see some more interesting releases like Varun Dhawan Alia Bhatt's Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Anushka Sharma's Phillauri and Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium.

Jagga Jasoos(April 7)

Star cast-Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif

Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos has been in news for various reasons, right from delays, Govinda's exit to Ranbir and Katrina's chemistry. The film is co-produced by Ranbir and the trailer has received positive feedback.

Bahubali 2(April 28)

Star cast-Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Rana Daggubati

S.S Rajamouli's first part became blockbuster and the audience will finally get to know the answer of big question why Kattapa killed Bahubali in the first part.

Half Girlfriend (May 19)

Star cast-Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor

Mohit Suri's film is based on the Chetan Bhagat's novel. It is a romantic comedy and looking at the track record of Mohit's film and Chetan's novel being adopted into films, it is expected that the film will attract young audience.

Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu too is releasing in the same month.

Tubelight (June 26)

Star cast-Salman Khan,Zhu Zhu and Sohail Khan

Kabir Khan is once again collaborating with Salman Khan for his Eid release. It is a historical war drama set in 1962 Sino-Indian War; it stars Salman Khan in the lead role who plays a man from India who falls in love with a girl from China.

June month will see Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar's Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Sushant Singh Rajput-Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta.

Chef (July 14)

Star cast-Saif Ali Khan, Sobhita Dhulipala

It is a remake of Hollywood film of same name and is comedy drama. Writer Jon Favreau produced and directed it. It tells the story of known chef who quits his job to launch a food truck. The Hindi version will be directed by Raja Krishna Menon.

In the same month films like Bareilly Ki Barfi(Raj Kumar Rao,Kriti Sanon,Ayushmann Khurrana,Haseena(biopic of Dawood's sister,features Shraddha Kapoor) and Mubarakan(Anil Kapoor,Arjun Kapoor,Ileana D'Cruz and Athiya Shetty) are also set to release.

The Ring (August 11)

Star cast of The Ring-Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma

It was going to be year of clashes for Shah Rukh Khan, as his second release was about to have a clash at box office with hit pair of Akshay and producer-director Neeraj Pandey in Crack but now the duo have decided to push ahead their film to next year and Imtiaz Ali's romantic drama with Shah Rukh will have solo Independence Day release.

August will have three more interesting releases that are Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar, Sanjay Dutt's Bhoomi and Sidharth Malhotra-Jacquline Fernansez's Reloaded.

Baadshaho(September 1)

Star cast-Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jamwal

This action thriller is directed by Milan Luthria. The director is collaborating with Ajay for the fourth time for this film which is said to be set in an emergency period. Sunny Leone has shot for an item number recently for this film.

Kangana Ranaut's Simran based on the real crime story and Varun Dhawan's sequel of Judwaa will also be releasing in the same month.

2.0 (October 19)

Star cast -Rajnikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson

It is a sequel of Rajni and director Shankar's hit film Enthiran(Robot). Rajini will reprise his role and Akshay will be seen essaying a negative character is this sci-fi trilingual film.

Rohit Shetty's fourth film Golmaal series starring Ajay Devgn and Aankhen 2 featuring Amitabh Bachchan are also releasing in October

Padmavati (November 17)

Star cast-Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical drama will once again see Ranveer and Deepika, though there is a buzz that they might not share too many scenes together in the film as Deepika will play Rani Padmini while Ranveer's character of Alauddin Khilji is an antagonist. Shahid will play Padmini's husband Rawal Ratan Singh.

Tiger Zinda Hai-Sanjay Dutt Biopic (December 22)

Star cast of Tiger Zinda Hai-Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif

Star cast of Dutt biopic-Ranbir Kapoor

Both films are aiming to release around Chrismas. Tiger Zinda... is sequel to Salman's previous film Ek Tha Tiger where he played raw agent. Rajkumar Hirani's Dutt biopic will have Ranbir essaying Sanjay's role. The casting of leading lady is yet to be finalized though Sonam Kapoor has already said to be part of the project.
