10 times when Bollywood stars rejected game-changing roles

1. Salman Khan - Baazigar

Director duo Abbas-Mustan first went to Salman Khan for this remarkable role but Salman suggested some changes in the script, which the director duo didn't like. Later the film went to Shah Rukh and interestingly, the changes suggested by Salman were added to the original script.

2. Akshay Kumar - Milkha Singh

Before going to Farhan Akhtar, first Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra went to Akshay for the biopic role as Akshay was Milkha Singh's favourite choice to play the role. But Akshay, who was busy on some other projects, rejected that role and it later went to Farhan and this role changed his career.

3. Aamir Khan - Darr

Yash Chopra first offered Darr's negative role to Aamir Khan, but Aamir, who was mainly focusing on chocolate boy roles at that time, rejected it. Then the role went to King Khan and he nailed it with his killer smile and Kkkkkk... Kiran.

4. Kareena Kapoor - Goliyon Ki Raasleela Raam-Leela

This role of Leela first went to Kareena Kapoor as Bhansali wrote that role keeping her in mind. There were reports, Kareena rejected that role because of newcomer actor Ranveer Singh, however, later Kareena herself confessed that it was her mistake to reject that role.

5. Kangana Ranaut - The Dirty Picture

Vidya Balan played this role with brilliance and she even won national award for her performance in this film, but let me tell you Vidya was never the first choice of that role. Actually, first Milan offered the role to Kangana. The actress chose Tanu Weds Manu over The Dirty Picture. That phase became difficult for the actress when she told people that she rejected The Dirty Picture, but when she won national award for Tanu Weds Manu Returns, she proved that everybody has its own journey.

6. Sonam Kapoor - Tanu Weds Manu

Yes, that's true, Sonam Kapoor was considered for the role of Tanu earlier but the actress rejected that film. In one interview, the actress had said that she had to choose a film between Tanu Weds Manu or I Hate Love Storys and at a time when the films were offered to her, no leading heroes were finalised. So the actress kept the condition whichever film will get the leading hero first, she will do that film. However, Sonam later did Raanjhana with director Aanand L Rai.

7. Aishwarya Rai - Raja Hindustani

The Miss World got the offer of Raja Hindustani to make her debut in Bollywood, but Aishwarya rejected the film. Later she clarified it by saying that time she was concentrating on her education and Miss World Competition.

8. Juhi Chawla - Dil To Pagal Hai

Yes after Darr, Yash Chopra wanted to work with Juhi Chawla in this film but the actress rejected that role. Later Juhi many times had told that she is responsible for Karishma Kapoor's stardom.

9. Salman Khan - Chak De India

Yes, it is funny but yes Salman Khan was the first choice for Kabir Khan's role in Chak De India. However, by luck, Salman rejected the role and it went to Shah Rukh Khan.

10. Ranbir Kapoor - Bang Bang!

Ranbir Kapoor had worked with director Siddharth Anand in two films Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani, so Siddharth offered Bang Bang also to Ranbir, but Ranbir rejected that film because he didn't want to repeat his film with Katrina Kaif.
