Three teenagers were brutally beaten up by a group of men in Bangalore's Hosakote area on 30 June.

The minors were accused of stealing from a shop in the area. The three were stripped and beaten up. A video of the one-hour-long incident, reportedly taken by the men, has gone viral.

According a report in the Bangalore Mirror, the boys, who were fasting for Ramzan, were forced to drink liquor. They were also allegedly beaten up with iron rods and empty beer bottles.

The boys have denied the allegations of theft. The police have identified the accused and have launched a search operation to nab them. No arrests have been made so far.

"After I got to know my son was also being beaten, I rushed to the spot to save him. I pleaded with the accused not to beat my son and offered to give them the money my son was accused to have stolen from their shop," the daily quoted the father of one of the boys as saying.

"My son is innocent but the owner of the provision store accused him of stealing Rs 1,500. I took my son to the Hosakote police to file a complaint, but instead of registering the case, the police asked us to come back the next day. Even on Friday, only after a lot of pressurising them did the police file our complaint," he told the daily.

The accused also allegedly warned the victims families to refrain from filing a police complaint.
