Pakistan: Major explosion reported in Peshawar's mosque; 50 injured

In a shocking incident, at least 50 people were injured in a blast that occurred in Pakistan's Peshawar on January 30. The explosion took place in a mosque located in the Police Lines area during afternoon prayers, Geo News reported.

As per reports, a part of the mosque collapsed due to the impact of the blast.


A 'suicide attacker' blew himself up inside the mosque during prayers, Geo News reported.

The suicide attacker was present in the front row during the afternoon prayers when he exploded himself, PTI quoted security officials as saying.

Those injured were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar for treatment.

Police have cordoned off the area and an emergency has been imposed.
