Italy train crash: At least 20 dead as two trains collide near Puglia

At least twenty people were reportedly killed and dozens injured after two passenger trains collided in Puglia in southern Italy on 12 July.

Local media reported that two passenger trains crashed head on in Puglia. Guardian quoted a spokesperson for the fire brigade as saying that the trains collided on a track in an olive grove between the towns of Corato and Andria.

Italy's prime minister Matteo Renzi, who dubbed the crash "a moment of tears", has pledged not to stop until the cause of the crash is ascertained.

It has been reported that more than 200 trains use the line every day.
