Grenfell Tower fire: 'We gave everything, Sorry it wasn’t enough,' firefighter's tearing note to victims

After spending hours fighting the firestorm that engulfed Grenfell Tower, a London-based brave firefighter has left a heartfelt message to the victims of the Grenfell fire tragedy seeking forgiveness for their 'hard work not being enough.'

The unknown firefighter placed a bouquet of flowers wrapped in a pink paper on a wall of condolence close to the charred remains of the West London tower block.

The tear-jerking message signed off by “firefighters x” stated that, “We’ve never worked harder. We gave everything. Sorry, it wasn’t enough”, the Sun reported.

Not only this, but the Fire Brigades Union is also donating £20,000 raised by its weekly Firefighters lottery.

Matt Wrack, the union's general secretary was quoted by The Telegraph saying, “In over 30 years of working within the fire service, I have never seen a fire like this.

“Firefighters want to do everything they can to the victims. We hope this donation will go some way towards helping those people affected.

“Everyone who plays the Firefighters 100 Lottery will support this decision.”

The entire world is sad over the incident of Grenfell fire tragedy that took place on 14 June in which more than 250 firefighters were called to fight the firestorm which has claimed more than 30 lives and the death toll is expected to increase. More than hundred people have been left homeless after the blaze.
