Samsung secured top position in smartphone sales, OnePlus and Apple followed; see reports

Samsung has established itself as one of the most premium brands in the country. According to a current report, Samsung has captured the 50% market in the premium segment. Samsung is successfully giving competition to its rival Apple in the premium brand smartphone. Company’s flagship smartphones like Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy 8 + have been the most favourite choice among the customers and now with the launch of S9 and S9+ Samsung has secured the top position in the premium market segment.

With the consistent growth of 16% every year, Samsung became able to capture the fifty percent of premium smartphone segment. The major reason behind this growth is the exclusive sale of S9, S9+, Galaxy A8+ and Note 8.


OnePlus has secured the second position in the list with twenty-five market share. Soon company is going to launch the most awaited smartphone of the year ‘OnePlus 6’ in an event on 16 May. Apple has always been a premium brand in India and has its own loyal customer segement. This US tech giant has secured the third position in premium smartphone customer segment report.

“Galaxy S9 series promotions were strong both in offline and online channels with offers ranging from cashback, exchange, upgrade and data bundling plans across all major operators,”.

“OnePlus has been maintaining its second spot in the premium segment which it is has been holding since Q3 2017. OnePlus 5T was the best-selling model during the quarter, driven by its limited edition variant launch and expansion in the offline segment,”.
