Moto X Play launched at Rs 18,499, but Moto X Style still missing

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 13 February 2017, 4:30 IST

Motorola has launched the Moto X Play with a 21-megapixel camera and a 30 hour-battery life promise at Rs 18,499. This phone slots just above the Moto G (3rd Gen) which is at Rs 11,999. The Moto X Play will be available Flipkart exclusively from midnight 15 September. What is curious though is that there has been no mention of the Moto X Style launch in India.

The Moto X Play has a 5.5-inch Full HD at 403 ppi with Gorilla Glass 3 screen compared to Style's 5.7-inch display that has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Other features include a 21-megapixel camera, Snapdragon 615 Octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz. The Moto X Play comes with 2GB RAM and 16 or 32 GB storage space option and a 3630mAh battery. It is expandable up to 128GB with the microSD card. The dual-SIM variant has also been launched. The smartphone will be launched in both black and white colours.

To celebrate the launch, Motorola is holding a number of launch day offers that include:

  1. Flipkart E-gift voucher worth Rs 1000
  2. 100% cashback for 100 lucky customers using Flipkart Ping
  3. MakeMyTrip Offers which include travel Vouchers worth Rs 5000, 55% Off (Upto INR 1,500) on Domestic Hotels booking on mobile app, Rs 1000 cashback on domestic flights booking on mobile app.
  4. Free movie vouchers worth Rs 500 from BookMyShow

Now the question is: when will the Moto X Play's big brother, Moto X Style, launch in India?
