Kirthiga Reddy, head of Facebook India, steps down to relocate to the US

- A day after Facebook closed its \'Free Basics\' programme, India head Kirthiga Reddy announced her decision to step down in a Facebook post.
- Reddy will relocate with her family to the US in the next 6 - 12 months
- Says she \"could not be more excited about where the Facebook business is in India\"
Facebook India head Kirthiga Reddy announced in a Facebook post late on 12 February that she will be relocating to the US, stepping down from her post in India, in the process. The announcement comes within days of Facebook's closing the controversial 'Free Basics' programme in India.
Telecom regulator TRAI had barred telecom operators from charging discriminatory rates for internet access based on content.
