Karnataka Election 2018: Need not stand in long queue at polling booths; this new App will change the way you vote in elections

For the current 2018 assembly election in Karnataka, the election commission has developed a mobile app to help voters. This app is very useful for the voters as they can check the complete information of their polling booth. Election commision is using technology for the management of current election. It has developed ‘ Chunavana’ app which can help voters to check the status of their polling booth.

The Deputy Commissioner of Hassan, P.C. Jaffer said in a statement “We have distributed EPIC to almost all voters. If the voter has not got it, he can exercise his right by carrying any photo-identity card on polling day, provided his or her name is in the final voters’ list”.


He added “ We have booked 50 cases with regard to violations of the model code of conduct. Excise Department officials have booked another 296 cases. So far we have seized ₹ 1.42 crore in cash”. He also gave information on the security of polling stations, the DC said further “In case of any untoward incident at any polling booth, the officials can contact either the police control room (100) or the control room in the DC’s office (1077). The staff at the control rooms will convey the message to the officers in charge of the area,”.

How to get details

The Deputy Commissioner said in press conference on Thursday that voters who want to check the status of the polling booth. To check the status they have to send EPIC details Via SMS on 9731979899. the format of the SMS is ‘EPIC (space) Voter ID card No. XXXXXX.
