There is a way out of the 'Battery Low' nightmare that you are so often faced with on your swanky Apple iPhones. But it involves getting rid of a popular app.
Believe it or not, just deleting the Facebook app from your phone - and accessing it through your browser - can actually extend your phone's battery life by 15%. You need not delete the Facebook Messenger.
This little trick works especially on Android phones, the Guardian reported after trying it out.
Last year, Facebook came under fire because the app automatically showed videos in the background even though users hadn't opened it. This would eat into the phone's battery life.
At the release of Facebook's new version, Engineering Manager on iOS at the social media platform, Ari Grant, said that certain issues had been identified and adaptations and improvements had been made.
For social media addicts, who suffer from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), here are the alternatives to deleting the Facebook app from your phone:
1) Switch off your WiFi
2) Don't use the vibration function
3) Close apps you're not using
4) Reduce the screen timeout time
5) Dim your display
