The state-owned telecommunication enterprise BSNL has recently updated their broadband plans and added additional voice calling benefits. BSNL has announced the benefits at a time when Jio is planning to come up with its own FTTH broadband services commercially which is also offering huge voice calling benefits with its offers.

BSNL has rolled out the latest plan and has been offering it since June 1.

The latest offer for the BSNL subscribers will be available to all the recharge packs from Rs 249 to Rs 645 and the users will be able to use the unlimited calls across India. As of now, BSNL with most of these plan offers free night calling already. And these calls can be made to any network.

However, BSNL customers who have opted for recharge packs costing Rs 645 and above will be eligible to make calls over any network across India.

Recently, BSNL had revamped its pFTTH plans to offer double FUP data. BSNL rehashed three fibre broadband plans, Rs 1,045, Rs. 1,395, and Rs. 1,895. These plans offer as much as 200 GB more data.

The plan comes in the wake of Jio making offers with their latest broadband plans coupled with the Unlimited voice callings. Presently, BSNL is the biggest player in the broadband market with the largest share in the market and Jio has been replacing the established stakeholders since its arrival with its aggressive price policy. Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have already lost lakhs of customers to Jio and in order to stop that from happening in the broadband world, BSNL has made the precautionary step in the right direction. Now, whether this step proves to be substantial in the market remains to be seen.
