#WorldT20Final | 156 runs stand between West Indies and victory in the ICC World T20 final

West Indies have become synonyms with the 'champion' dance their players break into every time they win a match or celebrate a wicket in the ICC World T20. And their performance in the first innings of the ICC World T20 final against England at the Eden Gardens was worthy enough of them actually going all the way to become champions in the tournament.

Because as things stand, only 156 runs stand between the West Indies clinching the ICC World T20 title for the second time in their history. Practically speaking, it is not a small total by any means but to put things in context, the Windies chased down over 30 runs more in their high pressure semi-final match against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

And that was without Chris Gayle firing for them on a tougher batting pitch. Surely, the West Indies would back themselves to get over the line in this final.

But cricket isn't called the game of glorious uncertainties for nothing. Standing in their way would be an English bowling attack of Ben Stokes, Rashid, Moeen Ali and Liam Plunkett who will do everything they can to prevent the West Indian batsmen from scoring the runs required.

You only have to look as far as the England innings after the 4th over to know how they can bounce back from a tough situation in matches. England were three wickets down at that stage, but a solid partnership between Joe Root and Jos Buttler meant that the score crossed the 100 mark to give the English bowlers the bare minimum to defend.

But wickets at regular intervals meant that England couldn't fulfill the potential of the mid-innings rise. Joe Root's wicket appeared to be the knockout blow, but David Willey's presence meant that England managed to stage a mini recovery.

Now will they manage to recover fully and beat a West Indies batting line up to claim what would also be their second T20 World Cup title. The second innings awaits, for one last time in the ICC World T20.
