"They might just cause one or two problems in the super tens."

The words of Nick Knight rang loud and clear as Afghanistan created history to qualify for the next round of the ICC World T20 by beating Zimbabwe by 59 runs. Zimbabwe were 127 all out as they failed to chase the total of 187 set by Afghanistan in the first innings.

All rounder Mohammad Nabi was the standout performer for Afghanistan once again, as he looks to cause trouble to the likes of Sri Lanka and England with his spin bowling in the next round.

But they certainly might just cause more than a mere "problem" to the so called stronger teams in the tournament. To limit the extent of their potential to just those words would be doing a great injustice to how they have performed through the tournament.

Their performances, although against associate nations have been of a high enough level to cause any seasoned test playing nation a problem.

And with players like Mohammad Nabi, Shenwari, and an experienced captain like Asghar Stanikzai, Afghanistan certainly has the potential to cause more upsets in the tournament.

For Zimbabwe, it was the fifth time in a row that they have lost to Afghanistan in their history. A period of introspection will certainly begin in Zimbabwean cricket, and it is likely that a few key figures in the team will lose their guaranteed starting spot.

But for the time being, cricket lovers can collectively applaud and appreciate the performance of an Afghan team that never seems to give up. Watch out for them in the super tens stage - they might cause a couple of upsets.
