Girl attempts suicide after being sexually harassed by Delhi policeman

A teenage girl attempted suicide on Monday after being sexually harassed by a constable from the Delhi police. The constable had apparently told her that he would frame her brother in a false case if she did not have sexual relations with him, according to the police.
The police have registered a case under section 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage her modesty) against the constable, Manjit, a resident of Sirodhan village, said SP (City), Ram Mohan Singh.
The girl has been admitted to hospital. Her condition is stable, says The Indian Express. Manjit is absconding.
