We are living under the misconception that only humans are able to make and use tools, but the fact is that survival teaches numerous things to animals as well. A video of an intelligent rat showcasing a high IQ level by deactivating a trap using a pencil has gone viral on the internet.

The 38-second clip shows a man who sets a rat trap with a luring meal on it to catch a rodent. After the lights go off, a house rat arrives to eat the meal on the trap. Instead of going directly for the meal, which could be life-threatening, the rodent uses a pencil to deactivate the rat trap. When the trap is deactivated, the mouse can be seen enjoying the meal.

The clip was shared on Twitter by an account named @Wallstreetsilver with the caption, “To hell with Artificial Intelligence learning how to take over. If the rats are using tools now, we are really phucked. Introducing RatGPT..”

Since being shared the clip has raked up more than 1.9 million views and over 28,700 likes. The Twitter users got shocked after seeing the rat’s intelligence.
