Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has just scripted history. The four-time National award-winning actor has set an unbelievable record by delivering three-all-time blockbusters within 60 days. His last releases, Janatha Garage, Oppam and Pulimurugan set the Box Office on fire, to say the least.

1) Janatha Garage

The superstar spent the first half of 2016 working on his projects. His Telugu film, Janatha Garage, released on 1 September. The film featured Mohanlal in the role of a garage owner.

The Koratala Siva-directorial, which also starred Jr NTR and Unni Mukundan, recorded a fantastic opening at the Box Office. By the end of its-theatrical run, the film went on to collect Rs 135 crore at the Telugu Box Office to become the highest Telugu grosser of 2016.

Not only did Janatha Garage become Mohanlal's first Rs 100 crore grosser, but it also became the third all-time Telugu blockbuster after Baahubali : The Beginning and Srimanthudu.

2) Oppam

Mohanlal's first Malayalam release of the year, Oppam, hit the screens immediately after Janatha Garage. The Priyadarshan-directorial, which released on 8 September, opened to packed houses across Kerala, with viewers opting for the drama over other competitors like Tamil superstar Vikram's Iru Mugan.

Within 17-theatrical days, Oppam overpowered the lifetime collections of third-highest grosser of the year, Jacobinte Swargarajyam, at the Kerala Box Office. The film is still running to packed houses in majority of screens across Kerala and has minted Rs 58 crore worldwide. Oppam also marks the 22nd collaboration of Malayalam superstar and super hit director Priyadarshan.

3) Pulimurugan

Pulimurugan released on 7 October, on the auspicious occasion of Dusshera. The Vysakh-directorial, which stars Mohanlal in the titular role of a hunter, crossed the coveted Rs 20 crore mark within five days of its theatrical release to become the fastest film to do so at the Kerala Box Office.

On its opening week, Pulimurugan crossed the lifetime collections of all-time non-Malayalam Blockbusters at Kerala Box Office - including Rajinikanth's Kabali, Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri, and Vikram's I.

On 23 October - on its 17 day at the Box Office - Pulimurugan crossed the lifetime collections of Rs 42.50 crore - set by Drishyam (100 + theatrical-days) to become all-time-highest grosser at the Kerala Box Office.

The film, which is nearing to its one-month-theatrical run is still doing phenomenal business at the Box Office.

The total worldwide gross of Pulimurugan now stands at a whopping Rs 75 crore, which is a magical figure considering that Malayalam films normally releases in below 500-screens worldwide.

It took the 56-year-old superstar just 60 days to deliver three out-and-out Box Office blockbusters. The actor's achievements are bound to give sleepless nights to all other superstars of the Indian film industry.
