To call Vijay\'s film, Theri, a much-anticipated film, seems to be an understatement now. The film, which opened for advance booking - across multiplexes and single-screens in Chennai - on the morning of 10 April, has been received phenomenally well. By that evening, all the first day shows in Chennai were already sold out. Theri is set to release on 14 April. SPI Cinemas of Chennai has reportedly allocated a record number of 124 shows for Theri - enabling the Vijay-starrer to open with the highest number of shows yet. The previous record was hold by Rajinikanth-starrer, Lingaa, which got 104 shows.What\'s more, Theri has also broken the record of Shankar\'s I at Jazz Cinemas, Chennai. All the 33 shows of the first day have been sold out already, while the Vikram-starrer already has 30 houseful shows on the opening day of the release. The hype surrounding Theri has also spilled over into Kerala, where the film will release on over 200 screens. The release of several Malayalam films, including Mammootty\'s White, have been postponed in order to avoid a clash with the Vijay-film.
