The Kerala Box Office will witness another clash this weekend, with the release of Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti and Mudhugauv. The films mark the debut Mollywood directorial ventures of directors Rishi Sivakumar and Vipin Das, respectively.
Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti
Director Rishi Sivakumar's debut film Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti stars Kunchacko Boban in the lead. The film also stars National Award winning child-actress Shamili, who is making a comeback to Malayalam films after delivering superhits like Anjali, Malootty, Pookkalam Varavayi and the Mohanlal-Mammootty starrer Harikrishnans.
The film also features veteran actors Renji Panicker, Manoj K Jayan and Saiju Kurup in supporting roles.
Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti will be an acid test for Kunchacko Boban, who has had bad luck at the Box Office with only two average fares in his last nine releases. The film is slated to hit the screens on 13 May.
Mudhugauv
Mudhugauv marks the directorial debut of Vipin Das. The film has fresh faces in the form of the leads, Gokul Suresh - son of actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi - and Arthana Binu - daughter of veteran actor Vijayakumar - who will play the roles of Bharath and Ganga, respectively.
Mudhugauv is a production by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner of Friday Film House in association with Carnival Motion Pictures.
This is their second collaboration in Malayalam after the 2015 Christmas release hit Adi Kapyare Koottamani. Touted to be a comic entertainer, Mudhugauv will hit the screens on 13 May.
Who will the Box Office favour this weekend? We'll just have to wait and watch.
