Shruti Haasan to play journalist in Suriya's Singam 3

Shruti Haasan, who is currently shooting for the third film in the hit Tamil film franchise, Singam 3 (S3), is reportedly essaying the role of a journalist in the film.

The film is being shot in Vishakhapatnam and Shruti's character helps Suriya uncover a big racket.

"Shruti plays a Vidya, a journalist who helps Suriya crack a big case. By working together, they bring down the empire of the antagonist," said a source from the film's unit.

Shruti will shoot for S3 till the end of the month before returning to the sets of her father Kamal Haasan's trilingual film -- Sabash Naidu.

Directed by Hari, S3 also stars Anushka Shetty among a battalion of supporting actors.

Suriya dons khaki yet again in the film, which has music by Harris Jayaraj.
