Sangamithra to be India's most expensive film

After a lot of speculations, Tamil actor turned director Sundar C has finally revealed the main star cast of his upcoming magnum-opus, Sangamithra. The film will star Arya and Jayam Ravi in lead roles.

​​Sangamithra​ which will be the 100th film of Sri Thenandal Films, one of the leading production houses in India. The makers also revealed that the budget of their landmark film will be above Rs 350 crore and will surpass Shankar's upcoming film, Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer -- 2.0 ​to become the most expensive film to be made in India.

B​oth Arya and ​Jayam Ravi​ took to their respective Twitter pages to share the news.

Arya tweeted : "Can't wait to join my buddy love @actor_jayamravi #sundar Sir and @arrahman sir musical​. ​thank you @ThenandalFilms for this dream project​"​

"Proud to announce my association wit #Sundarc Na, darling @arya_offl & a dream come true @arrahman #Sangamithra for @ThenandalFilms," tweeted Jayam Ravi.

The music of ​Sangamithra​ will be composed by Oscar-winning composer A R Rahaman​ while​ Sabu Cyril​'s name has been finalized​ for art direction.
