Rs. 600 crore : Give a break to Baahubali & 2.0, Mohanlal's Randamoozham to be India's most expensive film

Mohanlal fans have a reason to rejoice as the actor's much-awaited film, Randamoozham is all set to be commenced soon. The film, an adaptation of popular Malayalam writer MT Vasudevan's award winning novel with same title was announced in 2014, but later shelved due to various reasons. However, Lalettan announced the update on a recent talk show conducted by a TV channel.

Randamoozham will be based on the epic Mahabharatha and Mohanlal will portray the lead role of Bheemasena. The story will be told through the perspective of Bheemasena. Mohanlal also revealed that Randamoozham will be made on a whopping budget of Rs. 600 crore to become the most expensive Indian film till date. He also added that he has received the film's script with him.

In 2014. during the announcement of Randamoozham, it was reported that the film will have an ensemble star cast including Amitabh Bachchan as Bheeshmar, Vikram as Arjuna and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Draupadi. Reportedly, Telugu actor Nagarjuna too has been finalised to play an important role in the film.

Randamoozham will be made in English, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film will have music by AR Rahman and art direction by Sabu Cyril.
