Robot 2: Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty joins Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar

Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has been roped in for Shankar's 2.0 - the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot).
Pookutty took to microblogging platform Twitter to confirm the news on Sunday.
This will be Pookutty's third film with Rajinikanth after Enthiran and Kochadaiiyaan. The sequel to the Rajnikanth-helmed hit about artificial intelligence , directed by S Shankar, also stars Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar."In Chennai, one of my favourite cities. After the floods everything looks calm, initial meeting with @shankarshanmugh for #endhiran2" (sic)
Produced by Lyca Productions, the film is tipped to be made on a budget of Rs. 350 crore. The team recently completed its first schedule and Akshay Kumar is likely to join the sets from the second schedule.
The film is slated to release in 2017.
