Last Friday saw the release of the much-awaited Rajinikanth starrer, Kabali. The film registered record breaking business across the globe by collecting more than Rs 200 crore on its opening weekend. Apart from the terrific opening weekend, another happy reason for millions of Rajinikanth fans in India was the return of their Thalaiva from the US. The Tamil megastar was holidaying these with his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush from the last week of May.

After Kabali's success in the opening weekend, Rajinikanth has issued a letter to express gratitude to his fans, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, director PA Ranjith, theater owners and the distributors for making his recent outing a huge success. The superstar also thanked the female audience and media for making Kabali a grand success.

The letter said:

Since I had been working non-stop for emotional, revolutionary-offbeat Kabali, and Shankar's sci-fi thriller Enthiran 2, I needed some rest both mentally and physically. I rested two months in the US with my daughter Aishwarya and underwent medical checkups. But now I'm hale and hearty and full of vim and vigor after witnessing the record breaking success of Kabali, which I heard while I was in US. I'm taking this opportunity to thank my long-time friend and Kabali producer Thanu, writer-director PA Ranjith and his entire team for creating Kabali. I bow my head to fans, general public, youngsters and most importantly female audience, media, theater owners and distributors for making this film Kabali a huge hit. Magizhchi!!!

Rajnikanth ended the letter in Kabali style with the popular Tamil word from the film 'magizhchi', which means sweet happiness.
