Superstar Rajinikanth's Kaala is slated to be released soon. Directed by Kabali maker Pa. Ranjith, the film is tipped to be an action entertainer. Produced by Dhanush, the film also marks his first collaboration with his father-in-law Rajinikanth as well.

Since Thursday morning, many media reported that the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared the Thalaiva starrer with a U/A certificate along with 14 cuts.

However, Vinod, the Executive Director of Wunderbar Films, the production house that bankrolled Kaala, confirmed in a media interaction that the reports of censor board asking for 14 cuts are completely baseless. He also revealed that Kaala has indeed been censored with a UA certificate.

In Kaala, Rajinikanth will be seen essaying a man from Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli who escapes to Mumbai as a child and goes on to become a powerful don living in Dharavi slums of Mumbai. The film also stars an ensemble cast including Bollywood actors Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi.

Kaala is scheduled to have a worldwide release on April 27.
