Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is currently at the peak of his career delivering blockbusters one after another at the Box Office. The four-time National-award winner's last three releases, Telugu film Janatha Garage, Oppam and Pulimurugan were all-time blockbusters at the Box Office. The actor also emerged as the first actor in India to have two all-time industry hits of the year.

On Friday, Mohanlal's Pulimurugan completed its 50-day theatrical run at the box office. In a recent interview to a leading daily, Lalettan was quoted as saying;

"In Malayalam film industry, a Pulimurugan will happen once in a blue moon. If audience are aware of what makes a film do so well at the Box Office, then every filmmaker would be taking up such subjects. But it's not the first time that such instances have happened. Earlier, films like Chitram and Manichitrathazu pushed boundaries in terms of what could be possible with our films when those films ran for more than 365 days in cinema halls.

But these days, the number of screens has increased and there is also piracy as well which will stop the films to run for 100 days at the Box Office. But then Drishyam happened recently and Pulimurugan is also hoping for the same. And if you look at the success of Pulimurugan, it's just not limited to the Kerala audience. It is still running to packed houses in UAE, USA, Europe and even in New Zealand. If we are lucky, Pulimurugan could end up being the highest grossing South Indian overseas," he said.
